COVID-19 LATEST ANNOUNCEMENTS
March 23 Update: Worship Times, Safer at Home, Hourly Staff Relief
Dear Immanuel family and friends:
Today we heard Gov Evers ask ‘non-essential workers’ to stay home as part of containing COVID-19.
Beginning tomorrow, the church offices will be closed. Our staff will be working remotely and coordinating through video conferencing, phone and email. Unfortunately, our plan to begin Communion by appointment for individuals, couples and families has also been cancelled. We continue to welcome your prayer requests and questions by email!
Wednesday at 4 and 630 pm: Lenten Midweek Worship available on our website
Saturday at 5 pm: Weekend worship [also available on Sun and Mon] available on our website
Support for Hourly Workers:
Along with our called workers and full time staff we have 58 hourly workers. In order to care for them and their families our Senior Staff has created a COVID-19 Relief Plan to assist them while they’re not able to work by paying a percentage of their wages. Because they work for a religious non-profit they are not covered by unemployment. Although we are praying that other forms of relief will be made available through state and federal programs, currently they do not have a paycheck. We believe that providing financial relief is what Jesus would want us to do.
Will you partner with us in the care of your staff? It’s so important that you continue giving to Immanuel by mailing your offering to the church. We will be picking up mail daily. Another option for keeping your financial commitment is to use the DONATE button on our website.
Times like this are when Christians have historically shined in their love for Jesus Christ and for one another. We have amazing confidence in God and an amazing opportunity to rise up in prayer and generosity. God is WITH us, and will never fail us.
WE ARE THE CHURCH BUILT ON THE ROCK OF JESUS CHRIST, AND THE GATES OF HELL WILL NOT PREVAIL OVER US.
Grace and peace to all of you ~ Pastor Greg
