What We Believe

We believe that the God of the universe has revealed Himself through His Word, His World and most specifically, through His Son, Jesus, the Christ.
We believe that God make this world perfect and whole and that it is now broken and imperfect through the rebellion of God’s creatures. While we owe the God who created us 100% of our lives, we fall far short of honoring Him this fully. When we fail in this way, we destroy the relationship we have with Him and with other human beings. This brings pain to us and to those around us.
We believe that the God of the universe loves us so much, that He chooses to go to great lengths to restore us and His world to wholeness and peace. We believe that Jesus Christ came to provide the one way for God’s creatures and His creation to become whole once again.
We believe that in Jesus, God became man to live a perfect life and to die an innocent death for us. Through His innocent life and unjust death, He paid the debt our sins incurred with God. In response to His loving forgiveness, He gives us the desire to love as He loved, to forgive as we have been forgiven, and to serve as He served.
We believe that when He physically left this world after his bodily resurrection, He sent His Spirit to work in His followers, spreading the restoration that He began in us. He has given us His Word and the gifts of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper to use in sharing His renewing work in our world. He has called His followers to work in harmony with each other to share His love and life in our world.
