History

Immanuel Lutheran Church and School is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. The School was founded in 1912 in the town of Butler. It began as a one room school with an enrollment of 23 students. It has grown to an enrollment of 212 students. There are individual classrooms beginning with four year old PreK through eighth grade.

Purpose

The purpose of Immanuel Lutheran School is to glorify God by equipping children and assisting families through a quality, Christ centered, integrated education and to prepare them to witness by their words and actions as they continue to grow in faith and knowledge of God and His creation.

Support

The entire communicant membership of the congregation assists in the financial support through its weekly voluntary offerings. Member parents who have children in school are made mindful of the need for their generous support. All students are charged an educational fee, and parents of nonmembers are charged tuition. Everyone in PreK pays a tuition fee. All parents are urged to daily ask for the Lord's blessings on our school.

Curriculum

In addition to studying God's Word the curriculum includes the subject areas required by the State of Wisconsin. Upon successful completion of eighth grade our students receive a diploma which makes them eligible for high school entrance. Other subject areas include:

  • Computers - Grades PreK through Eighth grade plus a computer lab and outlined programs
  • Band & Instrumental- Grades 5-8
  • Music- Handbell choir and performances
  • Singing- Various grade levels sing for Church services; School Choir Grades 5-8
  • Physical Education- Regular gym periods, PreK through Grade 8
  • Library- Weekly library periods with a large collection of books
  • Spanish- Grades 1-8

Transportation

Some of the students living in the Menomonee Falls school districts are eligible for free bus services. Students living in the MPS, Elmbrook, and Sussex Hamilton districts may be eligible for parent contracts. For further details regarding transportation please call the school office.

Secondary Education

Immanuel Lutheran Congregation is a member of and financially supports the Lutheran High School Association. A large percentage of our graduates enroll at one of our two Lutheran High Schools.
