Immanuel Lutheran School Faculty
Our teachers are required to be graduates of one of our Synodical
Colleges or if graduates of a state college, take courses that will qualify
them for Synodical certification. All of our teachers have acquired a State of Wisconsin teacher's license.
Principal
Mr. Donald Rohde was installed as principal at Immanuel Lutheran School in 1991. Before coming to Immanuel he served congregations in Springfield, Illinois and Peoria, Illinois. Mr. Rohde was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois and a masters degree in educational administration from the University of Illinois, Springfield. He and his wife, Sharon, have three children.
Pre-kindergarten
Mrs. Cheryl Krueger was installed at Immanuel in the fall of 2001. This is her first call into the Lutheran Ministry. She is the child care director at Immanuel. In the fall of 2007, she also began teaching the pre-kindergarten class. Cheryl was born, raised and currently resides in Port Washington, Wisconsin. She attended Concordia University Wisconsin and graduated in May of 1999 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Cheryl has also done extra coursework in regards to early childhood administration. Prior to starting at Immanuel, Cheryl worked for 6 ½ years at a child care in Port Washington as teacher and program director. She and her husband, Ken, have one son, Logan.
Kindergarten
Lisa Wolf was installed as 2nd grade teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in 1985. In 1989 she started teaching pre-kindergarten and continued until 2007 when she became Immanuel's kindergarten teacher and physical education teacher to grades 1-4. Mrs. Wolf was born and raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. She received her degree in elementary education with a minor in early childhood education from Concordia University Wisconsin. She and her husband, Rick, have three children and reside in Menomonee Falls.
Grade 1
Mrs. Barb Oppermann was born in Berwyn, Illinois, but moved to Monona, Wisconsin as a small child, where the family lived until her junior year of high school. The family relocated to Cedarburg, Wisconsin where her mother still lives. Mrs. Oppermann was installed into the teaching ministry in 1973 after graduating from Concordia Teacher's College in River Forest, Illinois with a degree in education and a minor in speech, drama, and music. She has been called to congregations in the South Wisconsin District for all of her teaching ministry, serving at St. Martini, Milwaukee, First Immanuel, Cedarburg, and Immanuel, Brookfield. Mrs. Oppermann was installed at Immanuel in 1986 and has teaching experience in grades pre-kindergarten through grade 8. She is presently serving as first grade teacher, church organist, and choir director. Barb and her husband, John, have two children, Andy and Heidi.
Grade 2
Mrs. Elise Lorenz was installed as second grade teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in 2004. Before coming to Immanuel she served at Christ The Life Lutheran in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Mrs. Lorenz was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Grade School and Milwaukee Lutheran High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon. She and her husband, Matthew, reside in Menomonee Falls.
Grade 3
Mrs. Mary Jane Clinard was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. She received her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois and has a school library certification from Cardinal Stritch University. She served congregations in New Orleans, Louisiana and Milwaukee before being installed as third grade teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in 1992. She and her husband, Randall, have two children.
Grade 4
Mrs. Jeri Schneider was installed as fourth grade teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School in 2000. Prior to coming to Immanuel she served congregations in Glendale, Wisconsin and North Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Mrs. Schneider was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and graduated from Martin Luther High School in Greendale, Wisconsin. She received her undergraduate degree from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. Jeri is married to Pastor Dan Schneider and together they have four grown children. She and Dan reside in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
Grade 5
Mr. Paul Gohde has served as a middle-grade teacher at Immanuel Lutheran since 1978. Prior to serving at Immanuel, he taught in St. Joseph, Michigan and Milwaukee. Paul was born and raised in the Milwaukee area and graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and graduated from Martin Luther College with his teaching degree. He did additional course work over the years specializing in library sciences. He and his wife, Paula, live in New Berlin and have three adult children. Paul enjoys traveling and photography. He is also involved in collecting sports memorabilia.
Grade 6
Debra Schneider graduated from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois with her bachelor's degree in elementary education. She began her teaching ministry here at Immanuel immediately following graduation. She has also substituted at various Lutheran schools in the Milwaukee area before being called to teach at Our Redeemer Lutheran School in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She was called back to Immanuel in 1995, teaching 6th grade and 7th/8th grade science. She and her husband, Jim, have two sons.
Grade 7
Kent Kaelberer was installed as an upper grade teacher at Immanuel in the summer of 1993. This is his first call into the Lutheran ministry. He lived the first 18 years of his life in Minnesota near the small town of Truman. He attended a Lutheran grade school near St. James, Minnesota called South Branch. Kent attended Martin Luther High School in Northrup, Minnesota and later received his undergraduate degree from Concordia University Wisconsin, in Mequon. Kent and his wife, Amy, have two children, Caitlyn and Ryan. Caitlyn is a student at Immanuel. Kent currently teaches 7th grade and specializes in upper grade math and physical education. He also coaches and serves as athletic director.
Grade 8
Heather Corn was installed at Immanuel in 2003, and currently teaches 8th grade. Before coming to Immanuel she taught at Our Father's Lutheran School and at Lincoln Ave. School. She was born in Brookings, South Dakota and was raised in Lansing, Michigan. She moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 6th grade and attended Immanuel for 6th-8th grade. She attended Milwaukee Lutheran High School and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 2000. She received her colloquy in 2002 from Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon. She is a single mother of two sons, Joshua and Jeffrey. Both of her sons attend Immanuel. Ms. Corn also serves as the youth director at Immanuel.
