To become a member at Immanuel means to commit to worship, service and spiritual growth in this body of believers. We have opportunity to worship every Sunday (8:00, 9:30 or 10:45 a.m.) or Monday (7:00 p.m.) as well as many other times for special occasions. Opportunities for service in the name of Jesus abound and include any number of short-term or long-term possibilities in our church, school and community. Opportunities for spiritual growth include Sunday morning Bible studies, a number of weekly Bible studies, and ChristCare small groups, which focus on Biblical equipping, Community-building and Care, prayer and worship and missional service.
We ask those interested in church membership to attend a class which is held at least 3 times a year. The 12-week class includes basic teaching of what we believe as Lutheran Christians. It also includes a “spiritual gifts” component which helps us to help you to serve your Lord in the ways in which He has gifted you. Opportunity is given, usually in a small-group setting, to ask as many or as few! questions as you want. Those who are transferring from another Lutheran church are asked to go through the spiritual gifts component of the class.
At the end of the class, you are free to join and become a member if you are committed to worship, service and spiritual growth, and if you feel that the Lord has called you to join our body of believers.
